Coffee

Counseling Services

You don’t have to suffer with anxiety, depression, or grief alone.

What approach to Therapy do you need?

Learn more about the different kind of ways we can work together. A few goals might include treating anxiety, depression, addiction, couples counseling, mindfulness training, men's work, trauma-informed therapy, and assertiveness training, and anger management.

Treating Anxiety

Anxiety is a central human experience. We all suffer from it to one degree or another.  With treatment, relief and healing are possible to understand:

  • Anxiety provides the friction in life that moves people forward

  • Too much anxiety is debilitating

  • Overcoming anxiety is very simple but difficult

  • Anxiety loosens its grip in the light of awareness

  • You are not your thoughts and feelings…you are the observer of your thoughts and feelings

Treating Depression

Depression often consists of chronic sadness, hopelessness, and the inability to feel joy doing things that matter to you.

It may be difficult to believe right now, but there is hope. You can reconnect to your life and loved ones.

Through working together you will:

  • Improve your ability to ask for help

  • Develop compassion for the self

  • Cultivate a sense of humor

  • Learn to “see in the dark”

Learning How to Suffer

There are two types of suffering in life. The first is meaningless and unbearable leading to more despair, anxiety and resentment. The second type of suffering is the kind that means something…it’s suffering in service to someone you love or to a cause bigger than yourself.  It’s ennobling, bringing dignity and inner strength. When faced with unavoidable suffering you can learn how to take responsibility and make your suffering matter.

  • Suffering is a natural and unavoidable part of life

  • Your relationship to suffering makes all the difference

  • You can decide to make your suffering worth it

  • If you have a why to live, you can bare almost any how

  • Happiness cannot be pursued. It will ensue only as a by-product of giving your life to something greater than yourself
